Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you float.

Do I need a reservation?

Reservations are recommended — especially on weekends and holidays — to guarantee availability.

What should I bring?

Sunscreen, a towel, water shoes, a waterproof bag or phone case, and your ID.

What's included in a rental?

A tube or raft, a life jacket (if needed), and transportation to your float start — and from the river back to where you parked.

What is the pricing?

Tube Rental – $25/person (with or without bottoms, includes transportation).
Bring Your Own Tube – $20/person (includes transportation & air pump access*).
Raft Rentals – $40/person (includes transportation).
River Day Pass – $10/person (Available at The Shore & Riverbank only).
*Taxes & fees apply. Group rates available for 25+ — call 830-629-9999 for details.

Are there any requirements?

Yes — every guest must be able to swim. No exceptions.

Can I bring my own tube?

Yes! You can still use our transportation service for $20/person. We'll help with loading if needed, but we're not responsible for any damage to personal tubes.

How do I pay at Rockin' R locations?

We accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Cash is not required.

How long does the float take?

Most floats last between 2 to 6 hours depending on your chosen location and the current river flow. Visit our Locations page for specific float time estimates.

Can I bring a cooler or speaker?

Coolers (30qt or less) are allowed, but require their own tube rental ($25). No glass, no styrofoam, and no disposable containers. Speakers are welcome — please keep the volume respectful.

Do you provide life jackets?

Yes! Life jackets are available at all locations. We recommend all guests wear one for safety.

Do I have to wear shoes?

Shoes aren't required, but we recommend them for getting in and out of the river. If you forget yours, Aqua Socks are available for purchase at most locations.

What's the difference between tubing and rafting?

Tubing is done in single-person tubes (with or without bottoms). Rafting includes paddles and can be done in kayak-style inflatables (1–2 people) or larger rafts (up to 6 people).

Can I bring my dog?

Yes! Dogs are welcome on the float. We recommend using a tube with a bottom for their safety. Please trim their nails, keep them leashed before entering the river, and supervise them at all times.
