2- On the River

Most floats last 2–4 hours depending on location. Visit our Locations page for float time estimates.

b) Can I bring a cooler or speaker?

  • Coolers (16qt or less) are allowed
  • No glass, no styrofoam, and no disposable containers
  • Speakers are welcome — please keep the volume respectful

c) Do you provide life jackets?

Yes! Life jackets are available at all locations. Children under 13 must wear one.

d) Do I have to wear shoes?

Shoes aren’t required, but we recommend them for getting in and out of the river. If you forget yours, Aqua Socks are available for purchase at most locations.

e) What’s the difference between tubing and rafting?

  • Tubing is done in single-person tubes (with or without bottoms).
  • Rafting includes paddles and can be done in kayak-style inflatables (1–2 people) or larger rafts (up to 6 people depending on river levels). Raft floats from Gruene are typically longer than tubing routes.

f) Can I bring my dog?

Yes! Dogs are welcome on the float. We recommend using a tube with a bottom for their safety. Please trim their nails, keep them leashed before entering the river, and supervise them at all times.
